Careers@CVEA - Women In Construction

We were delighted to be invited to Sunderland College to take part in a Women In Construction event which has been organised by Carney Consruction and NAWIC (The National Association of Women In Construction).

During the event, the students got to hear from a range of inspirational role models who all work within the construction industry. They spoke about their job roles which included chartered surveying, quantity surveying, recruitment, sales, civil engineering, health and safety and project management.

Students were then set a design and build challenge. They had to design and build a school which incorporated a range of features and required design elements. Students then presented their ideas to the other schools and guests.

The students had a great time and enjoyed using their essential skills (teamwork, creativity, problem solving, communication) to design a fantastic school.
