Durham County Shield U14 Girls Semi-Final
Castle View Academy 1 - 0 Lord Lawson of Beamish A remarkable turnaround from the first game of the season saw Castle View Academy (CVEA) secure a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Lord Lawson of Beamish to advance to the final of the Durham County Shield U14 Girls competition. The result was particularly impressive given that CVEA had suffered a 5-1 defeat to the same opposition earlier in the season, and coach Mr Thomas had expressed concerns ahead of the semi-final. However, his worries were soon laid to rest as his team produced an exceptional performance from start to finish.
The team's resilience, development from training, and teamwork shone through on the day. Coach Mr Thomas could be immensely proud of the girls' desire to win and their disciplined, composed performance under pressure. Their efforts have earned them a well-deserved place in the final, where they will face St Bedes of Lanchester, a team with whom Mr Thomas has a long history.
