Southmoor Academy 1-6 Castle View Enterprise Academy League Campaign Opener | Away Victory

The Castle View Academy Year 10 football team travelled to Southmoor Academy last night to kick off their league campaign, with a familiar face waiting in the opposition dugout. Despite a frustrating first-half performance, Castle View headed into the break with a valuable 1-0 lead. Castle View came out for the second half looking like a completely different team. We were first to every ball, moved the ball with purpose, made better decisions and showed a real desire to take control of the game. The passing improved, the tempo increased and the goals soon followed. From a difficult and frustrating opening period to a dominant performance after the break, Castle View eventually ran out comfortable 6-1 winners, securing an excellent three points to start the league campaign. A hard-earned victory and a fantastic result to get the league campaign underway. While the first half certainly wasn't up to our usual standards, the response after the break was exactly what we wanted to see. The lads listened, reacted and showed what they are capable of when they play with intensity, confidence and purpose.
