Year 9 Football Team

Match 1 - Southmoor (Away)
A trip to Southmoor brought a rare change of surface, with the team swapping their usual footing for a grass pitch—something that required a bit of early adjustment. Any concerns about adapting going forward were quickly put to bed, as the attacking trio ran riot and looked dangerous every time they surged forward. The movement, pace, and creativity in the final third proved far too much for the Southmoor defence to handle.
However, it wasn't all one-way traffic. A below-par defensive display left the door open at the other end, and Southmoor capitalised, keeping themselves within touching distance for much of the contest. It made for an entertaining, end-to-end encounter that any neutral would have thoroughly enjoyed.
Match 2 - St Aidan's (Home)
A completely different challenge awaited in the second fixture of the week, as unbeaten St Aidan's arrived—an outfit packed with academy players and Premier Division talent and averaging an incredible eight goals per game this season. What followed was nothing short of remarkable. A fired-up team, clearly inspired by a passionate pre-match team talk, delivered a performance full of discipline, determination, and quality.
The team held firm to secure a famous 1-0 victory against one of the league's strongest sides. A phenomenal effort, a statement result, and quite simply—wow.
