GCSE English Language
Course objectives
The course enables students to understand and respond to what they hear, read and experience. It allows students to communicate accurately, appropriately, confidently and effectively whilst encouraging them to enjoy and appreciate a variety of language.
The course complements students' ability to work with information and ideas in other areas of study, for example, by developing skills of analysis, synthesis and the drawing of inferences. It also promotes students' personal development and gives them an understanding of themselves and others.
