Business and Enterprise

At Castle View Enterprise Academy, we aim to deliver high-quality innovative learning experiences for all of our students.

Students are encouraged to develop enterprise and employability skills during lessons and through extra-curricular and enrichment activities and opportunities.

By developing key enterprise and employability skills such as teamwork, communication, problem solving and leadership, students will be much better prepared for the constantly changing world of work.

We work closely with a wide range of local businesses and community organisations to deliver key business and enterprise messages. We invite local employers into the Academy to work with students on a weekly basis and students participate in a range of work-related learning activities linked to curriculum areas.

Examples of our business and enterprise provision

Careers Insight Talks

Each week speakers from local businesses, training providers, local further education institutions, universities and community groups contribute to our career insight programme. The sessions are open to all year groups and cover a wide range of career areas.

Careers Dropdown Days

Each year group has one careers drop down day each academic year. These involve students participating in a carousel of workshops delivered by our external partners.

Careers in the Curriculum

Each curriculum area has links with local employers and further and higher education institutions. This enables students to apply their learning in the classroom to the world of work. Through these links, students explore careers and progression routes linked to their academic subjects through guest speakers, workplace visits and project-based learning.

Support Careers @ CVEA

We are always looking for new partners to support our business and enterprise programmes. We are particularly keen to hear from previous Castle View Enterprise Academy students who can join our alumni network and share their career pathways with our students. If you would like to find out more about supporting any of our business and enterprise programmes please contact Mrs E McDermott (Assistant Vice Principal / Registered Careers Leader).

If you are able to support our careers programme please contact us at ([email protected])
